BRIEF PARTNER PROFILE

BKK Centre for Budapest Transport is the transport authority of the City of Budapest. BKK was established in 2010 with the aim to be the integrated mobility manager of the Hungarian capital. The organization is responsible for the management of all transport modes and holds more, than 1.400 employees (June 2016).

PROJECT INVOLVEMENT

BKK actively participates in the BUD-MaaS pilot (T.8.4) and in the living lab design as the fully integrated PT organizer of the City of Budapest (WP8). BKK provides the following information related to its PT and bike sharing services:

  • PT Timetable: API, GTFS
  • Real time PT data including bike sharing: API (open interface)
  • Service disruption via an application (BKK info)
  • Location of customer centres and ticket vending machines

Furthermore, BKK will actively contribute to WP2 with the ecosystems requirements (T2.2)

KEY PERSONNEL

Mr. László Sándor Kerényi (Male): holds an MSc in Civil Engineering (urban transport planning, 1998) and an MBA (absolutorium in 2007) and is a qualified technical supervisor of roads and bridges (2007). He is an expert in urban transport planning. Kerényi has been Head of Strategy at BKK since December 2010, a department that covers tasks and responsibilities that includes strategic planning, preparation of infrastructure projects, and participation in international research and development projects. Before that, he was Head of the Transport Department at the Mayor’s Office of Municipality of the City of Budapest (2008‐2010), where he was responsible for all transport related issues regarding the Hungarian Capital. He formerly worked at the Directorate for Road Management and Co‐ordination, managing and controlling projects on the Hungarian National Road Network, co‐financed by EU funds, both on Beneficiary and on Intermediate Body level (2002‐2008). For four years, he worked in the field of research, design and education at the Department of Highway and Railway Engineering at Budapest University of Technology and Economics (1998‐2002).

Mr. András László Kőrizs (Male): holds an MSc in Civil Engineering (2014) specialized for infrastructure and urban planning. He joined BKK in August 2014 as project manager responsible for international research and development projects, and participated in several EU funded R&D projects, such as NODES, TIDE, STARS, CH4LLENGE and FLOW. He is the senior expert for the maintenance and operation of the Macroscopic Transport Model for Budapest. Mr. Kőrizs is an expert in transport modelling and data collection techniques with a strong focus on operational and strategic decision support. András prepared his master thesis in the field of cycling infrastructure at the University of Braunschweig, Germany. During his studies He actively took part in transport modelling research projects at the Department of Highway and Railway Engineering at Budapest University of Technology and Economics.

Mr. Máté Lénárt (Male): holds an MSc in Transportation Engineering (2010). Lénárt is an expert in city-logistics and urban freight transport, also involved in transport modelling, with a strong focus on operational and strategic decision support. He joined BKK in January 2012 as a freight transport officer responsible for the development of the unified city-logistics concept and a matching action plan for Budapest, and recently responsible for international research and development projects. During his studies Lénárt actively took part in micro and macroscopic transport modelling research projects at the Department of Transport Technology and Economics at Budapest University of Technology and Economics, furthermore gained programming skills during his professional activity.
